English Language Support (ESOL)

Course Description

Teacher in Charge:

The ESOL Department helps provide International and local Students with the English language skills and qualifications required to achieve NCEA. 

Classes are offered at Level 1 and Level 2 where students will be placed on an individualised programme with standards chosen to suit the needs of the individual student.

Students will receive the support and scaffolding needed to improve their Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking skills.

Recommended Prior Learning

Open Entry subject to an interview with Mr Rowe

Pathway

ESOL programmes are individualised according to need and provide:
* support prior to entry to Level 1, 2 or 3 English Course(s).
* assistance towards NCEA qualifications and University Entrance Literacy requirements
* scaffolding and support for language rich subjects such as Geography, History, Statistics, Accounting.
