Building and Construction level 2 Year A

This is the first part of a two year course run within the framework of the BCITO leading to a Level 2 BCATS qualification at the end of Year 2. Credits from English, Mathematics and First Aid as well as from Building and Construction will count towards this qualification.
Building and Construction is a practical hands on woodworking course with a theoretical component. This course will introduce students to Carpentry, Joinery and Construction trades. Some of the projects will include a “take home” component. All projects will include folder work, activity sheets, tests and related information on tools, machinery, safety issues and design elements, essential to achieving the selected Unit Standards

Recommended Prior Learning
Open Entry, although it is recommended that students complete L1BCO in year 11. A strong aptitude for Practical work. i.e. Design and Technology, Design and Visual Communication, is recommended
