Tourism Level 3
Teacher in Charge: Mr R. McKenty
Tourism is a multi-disciplined course designed by Liston College with standards and content drawn from a number of areas. These include:
• First Aid
• Occupational Health and Safety
• Travel and Tourism
Students will gain their first aid certificate from an approved facilitator. This will not only give them the practical ability to respond in an emergency but will be advantageous when applying for jobs. The content covered in the module on Occupational Health and Safety will guide students in safe practices at work, whether that be in an office environment, construction site or carrying out general duties for an employer. Throughout the course of the year students will continually develop personal team work skills through class activities. They will gain a sense of awareness of the importance of tourism to New Zealand and the opportunities that the industry has on offer.
To deliver this course, Liston College will use its own teaching staff as well as the services of outside providers and The New Zealand Institute of Management.
This is not a University Approved Course
