Level 2 Metal Technology is strongly recommended.
Students without prior learning in technology must explain why they wish to take this course as well as discussing their course intentions with the Head of Department.


This course is the second year of a Metal Technology Course.  With a focus on Mechanical Engineering. The aim of this project based programme is to develop in students a broad range of knowledge and skills with a particular focus on engineering related outcomes. This will be achieved through students; 

•exploring materials in relation to technological products
•developing knowledge and skills in working safely with a range of materials, tools and processes
•planning for practice
•developing briefs
•developing and evaluating outcomes to ensure fitness for purpose
