Course Description

Computer Programming and Software Development

Students will be able to understand data representation and develop basic computer programming skills through:
•Working through the program development life cycle, including modelling, problem solving, coding, documenting, effective testing, refining, evaluating, and maintenance

Digital Media
Students will explore communication through the use of digital media (developing a website) through:
•Using simple planning tools to develop an outcome
•Analysing aesthetics and apply techniques to produce an outcome
•Understanding technical functions of a digital media application/s
•Understanding and apply ethical practice to outcome/s
•Developing and ensure appropriate functionality of outcome/s

Recommended Prior Learning

Open entry although students must be able to read and understand written materials well as much of the course uses self paced learning materials. Students need to have access to a computer running Microsoft Office software at home as well as internet access in order to complete  activities.
