Minimum entry into University requires:
NCEA Level 3
- Three subjects - at Level 3 or above, made up of:14 credits each, in three approved subjects (reduced to 12 credits in 2020)
- Literacy - 10 credits at Level 2 or above made up of:5 credits in reading and5 credits in writing
- Numeracy - 10 credits at Level 1 or above,
Entry to the majority of courses at University is very competitive and requires students to accumulate as many credits at Level 3 as possible, particularly at merit and excellence levels (grade average is used for entry into many courses).
