Year 9 Course Requirements

Year 9 Curriculum

Core classes:

• Religious Education
• English
• Mathematics
• Science
• Social Studies
• Physical Education

Options:

At Year 9, students choose FOUR half-year options. 

• Digital Technology 
• Business Studies (including an introduction to Economics and Accounting)
• Te Reo Māori
• Health Science
• Japanese
• Music
• Technology (including an introduction to Graphics)
• Visual Art
• Art Design

Selected students will be asked to take one (or both) of the subjects below to replace an option subject:

• Literacy – 9LIT (English support)
• Numeracy – 9NUM (Maths support)

Finally, Year 9 option selection is dependent on student choice numbers and our ability to staff the courses. Therefore, the availability of a student's option choice is subject to change and we recommend that everyone choose a backup.
